I have this pinging type of noise when I rev the bike, it seems to come from the right top side. What is it from or what should I do?

Hrm, I'm no mechanic, but top of the motor could be valve chatter.  You just bought this bike right?  Ask the prev owner when the last valve adjustment was performed.  That may be it, or something else.

yeah the guy I bought it from say's he don't know, so maybe never. Someone else was telling me there is a cam chain or something like that in that area that it might need adjusting. I just hope it's not a big problem.

if the cam chain makes noise it will more than likely be the tensioner causing it, and that would sound like bbs rattling in a can.  not so much a pinging.

Ok thanks, it actually does sound a little more like that. Kinda like a BB machine gun then it stops. So is that an easy fix? Is it ok to ride until it is fixed or should I park it? Thanks for the help.

Yeah, you just need to replace the tensioner.  You can do this with a stock automatic one which will eventually just go bad again, or you can use a manual adjuster which wont go bad.

You can get one here, and get a little more info as to why a manual will work opposed to an automatic.
