Look in the owners manual for the chain to be sure .. as far as the sprockets go, you dont need to change them unless they look bad.. EX sharp teeth basicly look at a sprocket on line and if ur teeth look diffrent change them,, If in dought change them there cheep insurance for ur chain.. But what i see is a 525 chain 112 links Stock sprockets 16 front 43 rear

get a sprocket/chain kit. I would go 520 too.You can get all 3 for your bike as 1 kit.Just go to your dealer or accessories place. They will know what to order you

16/43 525 pitch is stock for your RR. Unless you have an extended swingarm, any company should be able to tell you what length chain you need...112 pins is stock though. Dealers are fine for some parts, put drive systems aren't. They will sell you a cheap Jap chain and aluminum frisbees for sprockets...or some cheap Hi-Carbon steel like our OEM ones. I dont know, if your like me, I'd rather be riding than changing sprockets as often as I would with those. I dig deeper in my pocket to make them last, plus I have plenty engine mods too!! Check out these guys.... http://www.sidewindersprockets.com ....though a bit more than most chain/sprockets, definately worth it. I ride off-road too for 16 years. I have their Ti-moly set on my Honda 450F for 4 years with hard riding....honestly, it still looks new other than the coating worn off. My 1000 is the same. Still looks good and on my 3rd summer.

I did a chain job on my F2 not long ago. I strongly recommend, as most have said, the chain and sprocket kit. The sprockets are worn to the tune of the old chain. Putting on a brand new chain with new wear into the place where an old chain already wore it's path, you will greatly decrease the life of the chain. Go to Dennis Kirk. I looked up your bike and kits go from 132 to about 200. You can look around, you may find cheaper, but I thought it would help.

theres no need to change sprockets at the same time as the chain unless there worn.. Thats like changeing your front tire cause your rear one is smoked

allthough a rookie with a bike, i would have to disagree with you Gags. The front tire and rear tire on your car aren't connected by a chain so that is kinda a bad analogy...
Everyone I have talked to has said: When replacing a chain, ALWAYS replace the sprockets also. The old chain had a wear pattern that matched the old sprockets. If you put a new chain on the old sprockets, the chain willl wear to match the sprockets. If you put a new set of sprockets, the chain and sprockets will wear together, finding their own pattern of wear.
Me personally, i would not change the chain without changing the sprockets for one reason... SAFETY...
Drive train issues on a motorcycle can lead to road rash which is enough of a reason for me to buy sprockets!!!
Not to mention, the biggest part of the expense of a new set is the chain... as cheap as sprockets are, it would be silly to not replace them!
just my two pennies...... hope i didn't piss anyone off...

I agree with you Tbag, It might work out fine but it's not really worth the savings if it doesn't.

Good info guys, But I have a question. I have been looking for a how to manual or instructions on how to change all 3. I have relaced the sprockets and chain and now I get vibration in my foot pegs. but it only on deceleration. other than that it runs 100% better. I cleaned and lube the chain was there something else I missed or something else that needed to be lubed?
