hello all, my brother just recently gave me his 98 cbr600 f3. its in pretty bad shape right now but hoping to get it fixed up by the time summer roles around. its my first bike and got a lot of plans for it heres the list (in no particular order) and no these parts were not my fault it was his for riding hard and not putting the money back into it head needs to get fixed blew the third spark plug hole, new sprockets, probably going to rebuild the motor while i have it out just so its fresh and then i have peace of mind lol, new chain, new rotors and pads, new front fork seals, new plastic, and some other odds and ends. feel free to comment on what you think i should and should not do i am new to the motorcycle world so i am here to learn, also while i have the motor apart is there anything i can do to up the performance a bit. thanks

First and foremost welcome to our little slice of CBR heaven.  Glad to see you have choosen one of the technically sounds forums on the net IMHO.

Since you are going to have the motor out, you could see if the you could find better cam, crank, could jet your carbs and clean them at the same time.  I recommend eBay or Shark Skinz for plastics.  If you are trying to do this on the cheap eBay is your best bet but I highly recommend Shark Skinz.
