if you take each fork leg off the big and try to compress it, what happens?

usd forks for the most part have stiffer springs and are a much different design than the stock damping rod forks.

if each fork leg can be compressed off the bike, then probably nothing is wrong.

i would try that first, then install them back onto the bike and leave off the front rim. then try compressing them again. without the rim on, the front of the bike will be lower and provide more leverage for you. see if both legs compress then.

Hi michigan, The right fork is stiff when i try to compress it compresses only a little and comes back out. The left fork seems alright it compresses about a inch. I bought these forks from a guy stating that they were sitting not used in about three years not installed on any bike. Thanks michigan on your advice i am going to take the forks apart once i get my front wave rotors on and see how she looks with front end together.

have the forks ever been rebuilt? if so, maybe one of them is assembled incorrectly. or maybe the rebound adjustment on the right fork leg is not working properly? is the preload adjustment on the right fork the same as the left fork?
