so i have a crack in my frame. my question is how much of a problem is this or how big of one can it become?
is this something i can weld up myself or should i have it done?

if i weld it my self do i have to do anything other than disconnect the battery? should i remove the gas tank? or is that more likely to cause a fire than not removing it? should  take this as an opportunity to strip the whole frame and repaint it black?

I would definitely take the battery out and remove the tank.  If you weld for a living, then I would say do it yourself but if not I would pay someone to do it.
